Capital One Card Rules

Before applying for the Capital One Spark Cash Plus, I first made sure to cancel my Capital One Venture X Business card. You cannot hold both the Venture X Business and Spark Cash Plus at the same time. Cancelling my Venture X was easy and able to be done within my account online!

(remember cancelling business cards if they no longer serve you does NOT impact your personal credit…another reason they are a game changer!)

• Next, I froze my Experian credit! Data points show that there is increased odds of approval by doing this, especially if you have had a number of recent credit inquires with Chase. You can do this in one click easily HERE!

Converting Cash Back to Venture Miles

One click easy!! Once you meet the minimum spend on your Capital One Spark Cash, you can convert your cash back to even more valuable miles within minutes!

Log into your Capital One online account and select “View Rewards.” Select your Spark Cash Plus account, then select “Combine rewards.” I will be moving the miles to my Venture X card.

How to Maximize your Capital One Miles

I loveeee our Capital One Miles for flights and find I can 2x or 3x our travel when transferring these miles to airline partners of my card.

• Transfer miles to Air France/KLM to book flights to Europe for your family for a fraction of the actual cost (25% discount on kids tickets with their Family Plan)- saving on Europe flights HERE!

• Transfer miles to Air Canada to book business class flights to Australia or New Zealand for 75,000 points one way per person

• Transfer miles to Virgin Atlantic to book the cheappessttttt flights to London possible (starting at 6,000 one way per person!!)

• Transfer miles to British Airways to book American Airlines flights you might be able to otherwise

• My other favorite use of Venture miles is to “reimburse ourselves” for some of those harder to save on travel expenses, like Airbnbs and Disney tickets. Although, this won’t get you the BEST return on your points (10,000 miles = $100 in savings)…sometimes free is FREE amirite?!
